quick break to the cape

Cape Cod is a very special place for my family. My grandparents used to take my dad & his brothers camping there as kids before finally retiring in a little town called Orleans 25 years ago. Having grandparents on Cape Cod was a really treat as a kid - visits to Nauset Beach and Chatham, summer evening treats at the Sundae School ice cream shop, and hikes through Nickerson State Park were a few of the traditions. Things have changed quite a bit in adulthood, with the passing of my dad and my pop, but going there to visit my Nana is all the more meaningful now as it connects me to them. And getting to show my boys this place I love so much, and establishing new memories and traditions, truly makes my heart happy.
